Ok Play brings dynamic art and play experiences to children across Downeast Maine. We utilize open-ended materials to create temporary play spaces that center children and honor their innate ability to find joy.

Our Materials

In contrast to conventional toys and play structures, open-ended objects call for deep engagement, manipulation and innovation. Rather than purchasing toys from large corporations, we source materials from local businesses and community members.

Fishing rope, blueberry boxes, scrap wood, rotary phones; these items allow children to form observations and feel connected to the world around them. Through these undefined objects, our play spaces foster self-sufficiency and creativity, all while encouraging larger conversations about sustainability, consumerism and culture.
